Sports and physical education are a deep-seated tradition of the school, and are considered an essential aspect of our students’ integral development. We have always believed that our children should be of sound body as well as mind.
The Physical Education department strives to improve our students’ physical capabilities, develop their motor skills, and impart to them the values of sportsmanship – effort, self-improvement, teamwork, respect – without neglecting the inherent playfulness of these activities.
In both Primary and Secondary education, our work alternates core physical education with the practice of various sports – basketball, handball, hockey, padel, volleyball, athletics, etc. Friendly competitions are arranged for all of these sports within the school timetable, and are open to all students who would wish to participate. Additionally, a brief introduction to golf is offered to children in the first two cycles of Primary Education.
Our work builds up to the School Olympics – a yearly event fashioned after the modern Olympic Games, complete with opening and awards ceremonies. In these, and once a year, regular classes are set aside for a couple of days in favour of a series of competitive events, designed to foster the Olympic values of Friendship, Respect, and Excellence.
